New Delhi: On the occasion of World Mental Health Day, Shri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce organized a Mental Health Therapy Webinar in collaboration with the International Cell, SGGSCC. Mental health encompasses our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It impacts how we think, feel, and act. It is a crucial aspect of every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood. It is important because it’s a vital part of our life and impacts our thoughts, behavior and emotions. Being healthy emotionally can promote productivity and effectiveness. It plays an important part in the health of your relationships, and allows you to adapt to changes in your life and cope with adversity.
The Covid-19 pandemic has surely had gloomy effects on both our personal and professional lives. Keeping in mind the current scenario and having fully understood what the students need help with at this very moment, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, University of Delhi took a step forward to support its students mentally. The college has taken upon itself the duty of keeping its students emotionally healthy and organized a webinar on “The role of the human mind in personal development”.
The speaker for the enlightening session happened to be Mr. Kartik Naidu, Transpersonal Therapist and Trainer, Green Aura Holistic. “I am thankful to DR. JATINDER BIR SINGH Principal, SGGSCC and DR. NIRMAL SINGH, Convener, National Service Scheme, SGGSCC for having me as a part of this mental health webinar. An average person processes between 60000 to 80000 thoughts a day which is about 55 – 60 a minute out of which 95 percent of the thoughts are repetitive, from the day before. With so much compulsive cognition going on, mental health becomes a matter of great importance more so during these present times of crisis. I feel honored to have been invited as a speaker and look forward to many such sessions in the near future as well”, said, Mr. Kartik Naidu, Transpersonal Therapist and Trainer, Green Aura Holistic.
The college aims to bring a positive change in the lives of its students, help them overcome all of their stresses or anxieties and guide them to a better and brighter tomorrow.
