The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), under the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), is a premier training and educational institute set up by the Department of Space, Govt. of India. Its motive is to produce trained professionals in the field of Remote Sensing, Geo-informatics and GNSS Technology. To meet its goal, the prestigious institute regularly conducts e-learning programs focused on these disciplines.
As a part of its outreach program, IIRS is offering a great learning opportunity to professionals engaged in remote sensing data processing in different applications. A short course will be conducted from 5-9 July, 2021, and is ideal for anyone who wants to learn fuzzy machine learning and deep learning concepts to add to their understanding of Remote Sensing and GIS concepts. Notably, the course is being offered free of cost.
This online course is titled ‘Machine learning to Deep learning: A journey for remote sensing data classification’. It will train attendees to use machine learning and deep learning algorithms to extract specific class level information from multi-sensor temporal remote sensing data sets.
It must be noted that the core utilisation of remote sensing data is for landuse landcover map generation. Further it has been tried to increase capability of remote sensing data to extract single class of interest. Also to map different stages within a given class, generate information about specific class of interest in time domain. In todays scenario were various remote sensing sensor’s data is available, its gives an opportunity to integrate these multiple sensor data in a given application, to extract specific class level information.
