Elon Musk, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, who previously blocked and then unblocked the accounts of more than a dozen well-known journalists, will now include “mute” and “block” signals for Blue Verified.
The platform “will start incorporating mute and block signals from Blue Verified (not Legacy Blue) as downvotes,” Musk stated on Twitter.
Musk added that a “NN model” (neural networks) for a tweet and the account tweeting will take into consideration all user behaviours, including positive ones. Neural networks, which are used in the domains of AI, machine learning, and deep learning, allow computer programmes to discover patterns and resolve typical issues by mimicking the activity of the human brain, according to IBM Cloud Education.
Musk also revealed yesterday that it will be simpler to view tweets from “people you follow, as well as other tweet curations” on Twitter.
Since taking control of the microblogging service, Musk has announced a number of changes to its rules, including Twitter Blue.
Following a weeks-long suspension due to some customers utilising the paid service to imitate well-known accounts, Musk this week resumed selling his Twitter Blue premium option, which grants users a blue verification badge beside their names.
Users must pay $8 per month to use the Twitter blue service. Among other benefits, the service offers a checkmark in the form of a blue badge next to their profile images and the ability to alter tweets. Additionally, ordinary users of Twitter will see half as many adverts when using Twitter Blue, and the firm has announced plans to sell subscriptions for an ad-free version of the service later in the year.
Musk is also subtly criticising Apple Inc. as part of the debut of Twitter Blue. In an effort to reclaim fees Apple charges for in-app sales, the company will charge users who subscribe through the Twitter app for iOS $11 each month. Musk has blasted the payments as a “de facto worldwide tax on the internet” on numerous occasions.”
Users will lose their verification badges “after a few months, if they don’t pay for Twitter Blue.” “Musk has already stated.
By encouraging users to sign up for Twitter’s Blue membership service, the 51-year-old is attempting to reduce Twitter’s reliance on advertising. However, its $5.1 billion in revenue last year came from advertising services, with a significant portion coming from Apple.
