Quora introduced its own AI chatbot this month named Poe (“Platform for Open Exploration”).
Poe is currently only available on iOS and is invite-only. It enables queries, immediate responses, and back-and-forth communication. The Poe discussion can cover a wide range of topics, including writing, cooking, and problem-solving.
According to TechCrunch, Quora revealed that Poe is “built to interface with a number of different AI agents.” Two of these include Google’s LaMDA and ChatGPT.
A Quora representative added, “We have learned a lot about creating consumer internet businesses over the previous 12 years of establishing and running Quora, and we feel a lot of what we’ve learned can be applied to this new arena where people are interacting with massive language models.
While receiving input from beta testers and figuring out scalability, Quora appears to be currently training its chatbot on the extensive database of user-submitted questions and answers on its platform.
