In India, artificial intelligence has the potential to significantly advance social progress. In India’s healthcare, education, agriculture, transportation, environmental sustainability, and financial services, among others, it has demonstrated game-changing use cases.
The AI for Social Good Awards were created by Capgemini and Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM) to recognise and support cutting-edge and significant AI applications for the social sector that are emerging in India’s startup ecosystem and to promote even greater adoption of AI in socially significant sectors.
The Telangana government established T-AIM in 2020, powered by NASSCOM. The mission of T-AIM is to establish Telangana as a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and promote social innovation.
According to the Telangana government’s objective, the T-AIM is creating an in-house AI community in India that is well-trained to address and solve local problems using inferences and insights derived from datasets that are readily available there. To promote innovation within the AI community, they carry out a number of projects throughout the year.
Note to applicants
The event can be divided into three basic groups. The classifications, however, are not restricted to these groups. It contains:
Sanitation and well-being
Developing skills and a living
Environment that is sustainable
The presented use case should not be a pilot or prototype but should be active. Even if it has been in operation for longer, they will be evaluated on the worth of its influence over the last one to two years. Additionally, as the AI solution must be deployed in India, the candidates must make sure the firm is incorporated in India.
Additionally, startups are permitted to submit numerous applications in several categories and use cases.
Process and standards
Three main factors are used to choose the applications. First, AI implementation should be used to tackle the selected problem. Second, the novelty must be evident in the adopted solution. Thirdly, the applicant team must understand the effects of implementing the suggested AI solution.
There will be a virtual jury interview session for the AI for Social Good Awards. The information will be sent via email to the startups that made the short list.
The organising team and panel members will examine the data that the team provided in its application or when prompted during the award deliberation. The winners’ entries may be covered in the format of the organisers’ and/or its patterns’ choice following the award.
Dates to keep in mind
The application was made available on February 1st, 2023. On February 20, 2023, a participant-only educational webinar will be held. The application window will be open until February 28, 2023.
