With ₹15,000 and ChatGPT, the duo built an AI firm that they later sold for ₹1 crore.
Through the application of generative artificial intelligence, two friends, Sal Aiello and Monica Powers, were able to turn a $185 (about ₹15,000) investment into a profitable enterprise.
Together, they conceived and created DimeADozen, a novel AI research tool made specifically for idea testing in business. According to CNBC, their creation, which was first only a side project, recently acquired new owners in a big sale worth $150,000 (about ₹1.2 crore).
Powers is a talented product designer and entrepreneur, while Aiello is a Chief Technology Officer for digital firms. The two met at a virtual company founder forum hosted by Silicon Valley startup accelerator Y Combinator. When they saw the unrealized potential of using artificial intelligence in business concept validation, their partnership soon paid off.
What accomplishes the startup?
DimeADozen was founded on their capacity to ask specific questions of AI chatbot ChatGPT, honing their inquiries to extract insightful and useful data. Aware of the wider market potential of their inventive methodology, they created an artificial intelligence-driven research instrument.
The procedure was made simpler by DimeADozen, which let would-be business owners submit their concepts using a form. Subsequently, the program utilized advanced algorithms to convert this data into all-inclusive reports, scrutinizing possible investors, clients, and rivals.
DimeADozen’s effectiveness was demonstrated by the fact that it produced dependable findings faster than search engines and conventional analytics firms. The pair realized significant returns from their side project with little out-of-pocket costs after making an initial investment of $185. DimeADozen generated over $66,000 in income in just seven months, according to the documents that CNBC Make It examined.
The money
When Felipe Arosemena and Danielle de Corneille, a husband-and-wife partnership consisting of a software engineer and a product designer, realized DimeADozen’s potential, their success story took on new dimensions. Seizing the chance, they paid $150,000 to purchase the company.
Even after the sale, Aiello and Powers are still very much connected with DimeADozen. They continue to serve as consultants to the firm and invest a few hours a week in growing their idea. According to CNBC, Aiello discussed his goals for the product, expressing hope that it will attract the attention of major players in the market like Salesforce and end up becoming a go-to option for companies looking for confirmation and insights.
