The state’s budget for the fiscal year 2024–25 was presented by Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema on Tuesday. The budget includes an allocation of more than Rs 2 lakh crore, and Cheema stated that the government’s primary priority areas are health and education.
Cheema disclosed the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Lab by the Punjab Police in association with IIT Ropar during his budget presentation to the legislature.
This lab would address the changing issues encountered by law enforcement and apply artificial intelligence for sophisticated crime analysis.
