A historic multi-year partnership was announced today between News Corp and OpenAI to provide News Corp news material to OpenAI. With the ultimate goal of enabling individuals to make educated decisions based on trustworthy information and news sources, OpenAI is permitted to use the content from News Corp mastheads in response to user inquiries as part of this agreement.
News Corp’s major news and information publications, such as The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, MarketWatch, Investor’s Business Daily, FN, and New York Post; The Times, The Sunday Times, and The Sun; The Australian, news.com.au, The Daily Telegraph, The Courier Mail, The Advertiser, and Herald Sun; and others, will provide OpenAI with access to both current and archived content. Access to material from any of News Corp’s other businesses is not included in the collaboration.
News Corp will contribute journalistic knowledge in addition to material to assist guarantee that OpenAI’s product upholds the highest standards of journalism.
