A new conversational AI tool from search engine creator You.com combines search with a ChatGPT-style generative AI engine. The new YouChat uses the same extensive language model that ChatGPT does with GPT-3.5, but unlike ChatGPT, it sources current events and may mention them when necessary.
Ai YOUCHAT
YouChat functions similarly to other generative AI engines in that it responds to user-submitted prompts by answering queries, writing messages, and suggesting ways to modify sentences. The distinction from ChatGPT is that it is not constrained to data from the previous year or more. As a result, it can be used as a search engine, similar to the flagship product of You.com, to discover fresh information. The current early version still has context-keeping limitations and isn’t always accurate; replies may occasionally contain out-of-date or just incorrect information. Even said, if users prefer the more conventional format to the standard list of links, YouChat might mark a significant shift in how people conduct internet searches.
“You.com has revised a substantial language model for improved relevance and accuracy with the addition of citations and real-time data. It enables features never previously seen in a search engine and enables you to find solutions to complicated inquiries, according to a blog post from You.com. YouChat is the first major language model that has been enhanced for improved relevance and accuracy. We will keep working hard to reduce and prevent the spread of false information, even while biases and AI flaws are still a problem.
SYNTHETIC MEDIA CHATBOT
This year, generative AI’s and synthetic media engines’ power in both words and visuals has increased dramatically. At least for the prose-based aspect, ChatGPT’s conversational interface is swiftly rising to the top. YouChat was introduced the week before ChatGPT by Jasper Chat, a chatbot format for Jasper’s own generative AI engine. ChatGPT was already anticipating competition from GPT-3-derived chatbots. That competition will only intensify, particularly if new databases that incorporate up-to-date information, like YouChat, start to appear.
The LLM Wars are underway. OpenAI is out front right away. Users have another choice thanks to AI21. Bret Kinsella, the founder of Voicebot, said in the Synthedia newsletter that You.com’s YouChat is now a contender for a number of top LLM use cases. “LLMs are available at DeepMind and Google’s AI division, as well as at Nvidia, Microsoft, Facebook, and Amazon. It will be interesting to see how some of the major tech companies transition from closed beta to broad access in 2023. The competition will be fierce. We can be certain of one thing. There will be verbal combat.
