Bengaluru, Dec. 8 (IANS): The usage of artificial intelligence (AI) is slowly increasing worldwide, and India is ideally positioned to lead the AI revolution and establish itself as the global hub for AI innovation, said Sandip Patel, managing director of IBM India and South Asia, on Thursday.
In the last two years, AI has assisted organisations in lessening the burden of issues like staff reorganisation, supply chain difficulties, IT outages, and hiccups in customer service, among others.
In India, 57% of IT professionals state that their company has actively implemented AI in operations, and over a quarter (27%) report that their company is researching the use of AI, according to IBM’s “Global AI Adoption Index 2022”.
During the company’s “AI Day” event, Patel remarked, “As digitisation in India continues to deepen, firms are eager to employ AI and automation capabilities at scale to promote innovation and competitiveness.”
“India is well placed to lead the AI revolution and establish itself as an AI innovation garage of the globe,” he stressed. India has one of the fastest-growing economies, the largest developer community in the world, and a significant start-up environment.
Intelligent automation will optimise business and IT operations across all industries and address the widening skills gap to put more emphasis on higher value work when the proper AI-powered automation processes and team are in place.
IBM claims that by ingesting billions of data items, AI will gradually increase its understanding to better comprehend cybersecurity risks and cyber risk.
A strong ecosystem for AI is being built in India, and it is a matter of pride to be a part of this revolution, according to Viswanath Ramaswamy, Vice President, Technology, IBM India and South Asia. “AI has truly come into its own in the past few years, especially with self-driving cars, chatbots, and digital assistants,” he added.
When used effectively, AI and automation in the forthcoming tech era can revolutionise client relations in business, education, healthcare, and government services.
He predicted that “AI will scale and transition from an operational ‘benefit’ to a fundamental component in corporate growth and modernization.”
The consumer care journey will continue to be impacted by AI in 2023 with more individualised and fully realised interactions.
According to IBM, personalised conversational AI with expressions and emotions combined with the voice of choice will enable digital transformation.
Businesses must find a strong link between AI maturity and the trajectory of its growth if India is to hit its $5 trillion GDP objective by FY27.
Rahul Deshpande, Global Practice Delivery Head and Business Solutions Head for AI Solutions Practice, Wipro, said: “To harness the power of AI and data, we need to measure the E-IQ (Enterprise Intelligence Quotient) of a business. E-IQ assesses an enterprise’s current intelligence infusion level and provides capabilities for stepping up its intelligence quotient.
