Bhavish Aggarwal, the co-founder and CEO of Ola Cabs, stated on Saturday that artificial intelligence (AI) is a significant technological tool for boosting productivity and that India should take the lead in using such technologies.
Speaking at the Idea of India Summit hosted by the ABP Network, Aggarwal also disputed the idea that adopting such technologies will cause job losses.
Artificial intelligence trends are very disruptive. While it’s possible to believe that the adoption of AI could harm jobs, the speaker added, “I see it as a big technology tool for enhancing productivity.”
Aggarwal added, “And we in India, as an economy and as stakeholders of the economy, should all embrace AI.”
“We should be the first adopter of AI and become the most productive in the world,” he stated, emphasizing that using this technology may increase output by a factor of ten. He predicted that it will have a big effect on economic growth.
Aggarwal noted that the usage of artificial intelligence will have a favorable impact on the software development industry initially. He claimed that because of 10 times higher productivity, a developer may produce code in a day that would normally take him a month.
He claimed that, as happened when computer technology was first introduced in India, the use of AI would lead to the development of new jobs.
