The need for experts in artificial intelligence (AI) is increasing in a time of economic uncertainty and huge personnel reductions at big IT businesses. Corporations are keen to be at the forefront of technological breakthroughs, with AI emerging as the newest trend. Apple is now following suit by adding 176 new jobs targeted at AI and machine learning.
Apple has reportedly assigned 68 of these jobs to the Siri division, demonstrating the company’s dedication to improving its voice assistant technology, according to a Pocket-lint report. In addition, 46 posts would be devoted to macOS, while 52 positions would concentrate on integrating AI into iOS. Notably, a number of roles will call for proficiency across various products, highlighting Apple’s goal of integrating AI smoothly throughout its whole ecosystem.
Apple prioritises transparency as it begins this AI-driven project. An Apple representative stressed the company’s methodical and considerate approach to AI on a recent earnings call. According to internal insiders, Apple has taken steps to limit the use of AI chatbots in order to prevent private data from unintentionally becoming public.
Apple has already announced a special WDC event for June 5 that will mostly focus on augmented reality and virtual reality (AR and VR), but there is suspicion that the company may also reveal some of its AI advancements. Apple’s strategic decision to strengthen its AI skills might potentially have substantial ramifications for these developing industries because AI and AR/VR technologies are becoming more and more linked.
The WWDC will begin at 10 a.m. Pacific Time (PT), 10.30 p.m. IST, and 1 p.m. Eastern Time (ET). Apple’s website and YouTube channel will broadcast the WWDC keynote live.
