The trajectory of growth of the Indian startup ecosystem is evidence of how ready the nation is to accept technological innovation in all aspects of life. India currently has the third-largest startup ecosystem in the world, ranking alongside top competitors like the US and China.
The techade is being led by major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, which have become the nation’s top startup hubs. Bengaluru, however, takes the top spot. The city is home to 40 unicorns, 44 soonicorns, and more than 4K registered startups, according to an Inc42 report. In fact, Bengaluru is the birthplace of many decacorns (startups valued at more than $10 billion), including BYJU’S, Swiggy, and Flipkart.
The Karnataka state government has actively promoted innovation by fostering a thriving business environment, spending money on human resources, and doing a lot more.
The Bengaluru Tech Summit, formerly known as Bangalore IT.com, has been held annually by the Karnataka government since 1998 in an effort to promote and honour entrepreneurship in the region and provide a forum for dialogue for established companies, aspiring entrepreneurs, researchers, and other key players in the startup ecosystem.
Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) will return in a physical format after a two-year hiatus (the summit’s previous two iterations were held online) and is expected to be Asia’s biggest tech event.
The three-day event will be held between November 16 and November 18, 2022, at Bangalore Palace in Bengaluru. It will be organised by the state’s Department of Electronics, IT, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology and co-hosted by the Software Technology Park of India (STPI).
The silver anniversary edition of BTS, which will bring together prominent government figures, academics, and other industry stalwarts under one roof in 2022, also marks the industry’s 50th anniversary.
BTS 2022 will give startups of all stages a stage where they can present innovative technologies in deep tech, biotech, and other fields that will shape the future.
