BILITI Electric has partnered with the Telangana-based GMW Electric to deploy electric three-wheelers in the US, UK, EU, Japan, UAE, India and African markets. Gayam Motor Works or GMW has been appointed an exclusive EV manufacturing partner for Biliti Electric, USA.
The company has introduced its proprietary SmartSwapp battery technology to the North American market. This allows the user to simply swap the vehicle battery and get recharged in less than a minute. The GMW Taskman has a certified range of 177km (110 miles) and is designed for last-mile deliveries.
BILITI Electric claims that the Taskman has clocked over 32 million kilometres and delivered 12 million packages so far. The e-three-wheelers are cloud-connected via mobile and show real-time availability of nearest SmartSwapp stations based on location.
Founded in 2021, Biliti Electric is a fast-growing electric mobility company that designs and manufactures compact EVs. Biliti exports compact electric vehicles to more than 15 countries, including the European Union. Biliti founder Rahul Gayam has been listed among Forbes Asia 30 Under 30 in 2018 and was Global Fellow of Mercedes-Benz EQ in 2019.
Solar panels do the job for Taskman battery
Rahul Gayam, CEO, Biliti Electric said: “At AutoMobility, we also highlighted a very important green innovation for the first time — solar panels. The solar panels are mounted on three sides of the vehicle and provide enough power to fully recharge the Taskman battery in just over three hours. You can rely on the sun for 100% recharge, for an extended range of another 110 miles (177km).”
The company claims the Taskman has been ground-tested by e-commerce companies in US, UK, EU, Japan, UAE, India and Africa with Amazon, Walmart (Flipkart), IKEA, SokoWatch, BigBasket (Tata), Zomato, and several others. The vehicle is a smart, efficient, and economical way to deliver goods and packages in an urban environment.
Recently, the company saw a commitment of $400 million (Rs 2,960 crore) PIPE investment commitment from Luxembourg-based GEM Global Yield LLC SCS (GEM).
