On Wednesday, Mercedes-Benz and Google established a long-term strategic alliance to advance automotive innovation and develop the next-generation digital luxury automobile experience for the market.
Mercedes-Benz will be the first automaker to develop its own branded navigation system using new in-car data and navigational capabilities from the Google Maps Platform thanks to this agreement.
The premium manufacturer will now have access to Google’s comprehensive geospatial offering, which includes comprehensive location data, real-time and forecasted traffic data, automatic rerouting, and more.
Customers will benefit from a better navigation experience thanks to the inclusion of these capabilities in the future Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), which will be simple to use and display stunning graphics on the high-resolution screen of the vehicle. The firms will integrate the YouTube app into the Mercedes-Benz infotainment system to assist improve the user experience.
The businesses decided to investigate deeper cooperation using the industry-leading open infrastructure, data, and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions offered by Google Cloud. Mercedes-Benz wants to improve client experiences by using Google Cloud’s AI and machine learning capabilities to quickly develop, train, and deploy new models.
