Deepika Padukone Frontline Assist: The Om Shaanti Om fame, Deepika Padukone notified an Initiative taken by her titled ‘Frontline Assist’ on Wednesday.
The initiative aims to provide financial support towards the mental wellness of the country’s frontline workers. The 35-year-old actor posted on her Instagram’s timeline that The Live Love Laugh Foundation, her mental health organisation will refine the sale proceeds for the initiative from the “Deepika Padukone Closet” to NGO Sangath’s dedicated COVID-19 well-being centre.
Padukone emphasised the importance of frontline workers as she said that they have been the spine of our country. She also mentioned that as she has battled against mental illness in the past she understands the importance of emotional wellness.
“As a mental health foundation, we are grateful to be able to contribute to the mental health of our country’s frontline workers with ‘Frontline Assist,” she added.
The actor concluded the message by writing that”We are proud to direct proceeds towards mental wellness of the country’s national heroes from The Deepika Padukone Closet through our partnership with Sangath.”
This is not the first time that the 35-year-old actor is taking a step towards mental wellness. Padukone had taken various other initiatives in the past like – “Chain of well-being” and #Dobarapoocho among others, she also shared verified mental health helpline numbers earlier on Instagram.
The actor also posted a positive message for the fans amid the second wave of COVID-19 which said that “As millions of us (I and my family included) strive to stay drifted and departed, let us not forget that our emotional wellness in the pandemic, is equally important! Remember, You Are Not Alone. We are in this Together. And most importantly, there is Hope!”
Deepika Padukone was last seen in Chhapaak. Her future projects include the remake of The Intern, Pathan, and Fighter in her kitty among others.
