New Delhi: Enel Green Power and Energy Vault, a Switzerland-based energy storage company, on Friday said they have entered a partnership agreement for the deployment of EVx, a gravity energy storage technology platform.
The deal aims to integrate the recycling of decommissioned wind turbine blades into the weights used by Energy Vault’s innovative gravitational energy storage system.
According to the company statement, this will extend the useful life of materials used in the wind power supply chain by over 35 years and a corresponding cost reduction of the Energy Vault’s gravity energy storage technology.
“By closely working with Enel Green Power, Energy Vault will seek to bridge the remaining gap in the clean energy ecosystem by providing cost-effective and sustainable energy storage solutions while accelerating the innovative application of recycled materials throughout the value chain,” said the statement.
It added that this strategic partnership will enable clean energy companies to increase the sustainability of their infrastructure footprint while concurrently accelerating the transition towards renewable energy.
