India’s EV market is has continually gathered steam for a while now, welcoming more and more brands into the system. Well, folks, we can add yet another name to the list — EVTRIC Motors, which is the EV subsidiary of PAPL, an Indian automation company involved in the manufacture of line automation equipment, conveyors, robots, simulation, etc. That is not the only piece of news we have to share about EVTRIC Motors, by the way. The new Indian EV manufacturer says it will invest roughly ₹100 crore in a phased manner with the aim to introduce a variety of made in India electric vehicles, including electric scooters, electric bikes, electric three-wheelers, and electric bicycles.
Manoj Patil, MD and Founder, EVTRIC Motors, said, “The government has been relentlessly working towards promoting EV in India in terms of adoption and localization both. However, there is a dire need for experience and infrastructure to accelerate the adoption. PAPL with its decade of experience in automation and manufacturing in the automobile sector can contribute to a great extent. At EVTRIC we aim to provide finer products at competitive prices to Indian customers and also promote localization for contributing to the e-mobility vision.”
The company has already set up a manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune; the factory has an annual manufacturing capacity of 1.5 lakh units and features myriad automation processes to help ensure quality and efficiency. EVTRIC Motors added that it has started the process to onboard dealers as it aims to establish its presence in Andhra Pradesh, Delhi- NCR, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal by the end of financial year 2021-22.
