Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State (MoS) for Electronics and Information Technology, stated that India Stack will advance with time and incorporate AI going forward.
“Today, we have #IndiaStack 1.0. With time, it will continue to develop and grow more complex, sophisticated, and intelligent. The innovation journey of India Stack will include using data datasets and AI, Chandrasekhar said during the conference.
Over 100 digital leaders from industry groups, business, system integrators, and senior executives of startups attended the conference. Delegates from the G20 nations also came to the occasion.
According to Chandrasekhar, the conference’s goal is to increase access to and adoption of the India Stack for nations that are eager to do so and integrate it in accordance with their requirements, as well as to build a strong ecosystem of startups, developers, and system integrators that will work with it to develop the next-generation of innovations.
The minister stated that the country’s goal is to provide the India Stack or a portion of the Stack to businesses and nations around the globe who wish to innovate and further integrate, carry out, and implement digital transformation.
He added that by February or March, five to seven other nations are anticipated to sign up for either partial or full adoption of India Stack.
India’s digital stack, also known as the India Stack, is a collection of free and open application programming interfaces (APIs) and online services that include payment and identity features. It incorporates, among other things, Aadhaar, UPI, and account aggregator infrastructure.
For instance, the government has been promoting UPI internationally, with up to 30 nations currently negotiating with India to implement the payments framework in their nations.
A top Monetary Authority of Singapore official stated earlier this month that the integration of UPI with its Singaporean counterpart PayNow is anticipated to go live soon.
The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has gave members of UPI instructions to permit non-resident account types including non-resident external (NRE) and non-resident ordinary (NRO) accounts with foreign mobile numbers to utilise UPI.
The Center also intends to provide a certification process for Indian companies that want to assist foreign nations in integrating their existing digital infrastructure with the APIs of various digital public goods included in the “India Stack” into their national digital infrastructure.
