As part of a journey focusing on artificial intelligence (AI), the Indian founders of the venture capital firm Peak XV met with Jensen Huang, CEO of NVIDIA, the undisputed king of advanced chips that are currently powering AI applications, at the company’s headquarters in the Bay Area.
The venture capital firm stated, “We’re just scratching the surface when it comes to AI,” in a post on X and Linkedin that included a transcript of a chat it held with Doug Leone, a partner at Sequoia Capital, and its managing director, Shailendra J. Singh.
This was a part of an immersion trip that Peak XV arranged in conjunction with the conclusion of the ninth cohort of Surge, the company’s scale-up initiative for early-stage entrepreneurs.
“In the post-GPT era, #AI is now a boardroom topic and top priority for CEOs in every large company around the world,” read a different post.
During our US immersion week, Rajan Anandan is addressed by Umesh Sachdev, CEO and co-founder of Uniphore, one of the biggest AI-native enterprise-class startups.
The trip included a demonstration of all of NVIDIA’s technologies and how they integrate into different businesses and sectors, according to founders who were in the cohort. Additionally, Jensen Huang discussed his path and NVIDIA’s current emphasis areas with the company’s founders.
Recently, NVIDIA made waves across the globe when its market capitalization surpassed Alphabet’s USD 1.82 trillion market cap, rising to USD 1.83 trillion. For the first time since 2002, NVIDIA closed Tuesday with a larger market capitalization than Amazon.
From February 13–16, 2024, Peak XV organized a founder immersion tour that included a “AI day” with the goal of studying the strategies of successful AI founders and operators, such as OpenAI, Uniphore, Glean, Moveworks, and 6Sense.
Shailendra Singh and Rajan Anandan, the managing directors of Peak XV, hosted the more than sixty entrepreneurs who arrived in the US for the intensive week.
The topics of discussion revolved around creating elite businesses and succeeding in the US market.
Doug Leone, the former over 25-year leader of Sequoia Capital, had an open conversation on AI and company building with Peak XV Managing Director Shailendra Singh during a fireside chat for founders.
Startups from Australia, India, and Southeast Asia attended US Week and are developing cutting-edge businesses in the consumer, deep-tech, SaaS, and artificial intelligence domains.
