Ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of railways, has suggested modernizing the Indian Railways by implementing innovations and technologies. He was giving a technical conference today on integrating data analytics to revolutionize railway networks, which was put on by the Centre of Railways Information System (CRIS).
The Minister stressed the importance of transforming Indian Railways quickly using AI and quantum computing. He said that for the nation to catch up to the rest of the world, rapid transformation is necessary, and Indian Railways should take the lead by using the newest technologies.
The Minister asserts that the Indian government has clear goals and is driven to act in a way that is “Desh Ke Hit Mein aur Railways Ke Hit Mein” with focus, aim, adaptability, open-mindedness, and a sense of purpose.
The nation is committed to using innovation and cutting-edge technologies to improve life for its citizens. The development of quantum computing is one step in that direction. We’re getting close to data safety with this technique. India can also employ its railroad resources more effectively and professionally.
According to the minister, data analytics may offer insightful information that can help the Indian Railways’ different operations be optimized. It can be used to lower operating costs, increase the effectiveness of train timetables, and improve maintenance. Indian Railways can forecast demand for trains and make plans to allocate enough resources by analyzing data. Congestion will be lessened, and delays will be minimized.
D.K. Singh, the MD of CRIS, said during the conference that CRIS and ISRO had worked together to track trains in real-time through the Real Time Train Information System (RTIS). This will make de-training on the railroads more effective. Moreover, IoT gadgets based on satcom and satnav will be installed aboard the trains.
The seminar is a noteworthy endeavor that recognizes the value of innovation and technology in delivering a dependable and efficient transportation system. The Indian Railways’ varied issues can be solved and the railway network can be transformed by integrating data analytics.
