India has fewer than 2% of the $1 trillion global computational infrastructure, compared to almost 60% in the US and China, according to a top Nvidia executive. However, if the required infrastructure is built quickly, India has a chance to become the “AI factory of the world.”
India presently makes up only 2 percent of the world’s AI research, with a major contributing issue being a shortage of computational infrastructure. To close this gap, the government has partnered with data center firms and invested $10,000 in GPUs.
