A minor UG engineering programme in modern machine learning has been launched at IIIT-Hyderabad by iHub-Data, and it will start being taught in the academic year 2023.
The faculty at IIIT-Hyderabad has been working to develop the curriculum, lecture materials, and hands-on tutorials. They have also been investigating how to provide a qualified programme that covers the principles of contemporary machine learning. These culminated in a 50-week course on the fundamentals of contemporary machine learning, which is now being provided by iHub-Data to Indian undergraduate engineering students, according to IIIT-Hyderabad.
There has been a growing realisation that the curriculum should also be given as a regular academic programme of any university or technical school because it incorporates learning from its involvement with the students.
Institutions agreeing to provide the minor curriculum would have access to all necessary learning resources, including hands-on tutorials, enabling these institutions to offer it as a regular on-campus classroom programme.
Institutions who are interested in joining the network must sign an MoU with iHub-Data, IIIT-Hyderabad before they may offer the course for a block of four years beginning in 2023.
