The Law Commission of India is hosting the National Conference on Artificial Intelligence: Legal Implications and Challenges in Collaboration With MeitY And NLU Sonepat. Together with the Indian government’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University in Sonepat.
A crucial one-day national conference is scheduled to be held on February 24, 2024, by the Law Commission of India, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of the Government of India, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat. With two technical sessions, this conference intends to analyze the regulatory environment around artificial intelligence (AI) and brings together professionals from academia, industry, government, and civil society.
Prof. (Dr.) Archana Mishra, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat; Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh, Conference Director and Dean of Academic Affairs & HOD at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat; Mr. Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Chairman Law Commission of India; and Shri Rajeev Chandrashekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology & Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; these individuals are key organizers of the conference.
Strong legislative frameworks are desperately needed to handle important issues including data governance, privacy protection, liability, and ethical considerations as AI technology develop quickly.
The conference, which is slated to take place in person, will include two technical sessions, an opening session, and a closing session. Participants will have a forum for in-depth conversations and idea sharing throughout these sessions. Through the promotion of inclusive discourse among specialists from all backgrounds, the conference aims to outline a path towards the development of a comprehensive regulatory framework for the governance of AI in India.
The conference also hopes to solicit paper submissions, with the goal of publishing chosen papers as book chapters. Attending the meeting requires registration; the comprehensive booklet containing registration details is included. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, and the Law Commission of India, MeitY, will provide the participant certificates and publication.
