A task force was established by the Ministry of Electronics and IT on Monday to create a draft roadmap for the AI ecosystem by the end of April.
Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar following consultation with startups and IT businesses working on artificial intelligence announced setting establishment of an IndiaAI platform that will focus on enhancing research and facilitating tools required for the start-up community for growth.
“Promote Indian startups, research, and innovation will be the main goal of the IndiaAI platform. By the end of April, I anticipate the task force to provide its concept for IndiaAI “said Chandrasekhar.
AI is predicted to contribute USD 967 billion and USD 450 500 billion to India’s GDP, respectively, by 2035 and 2025, respectively, accounting for 10% of the nation’s USD 5 trillion GDP objective.
Debjani Ghosh, the president of the IT industry’s Nasscom, requested during the conversation that the government creates a roadmap centered on industries like clean tech, biotech, and space tech.
“if you begin with abilities. Currently, India has 500–1000 or so skilled professionals. There is a lot more demand. We anticipate it to increase to a million by 2025. Can we declare that under the IndiaAI program, we will all work together to produce a million highly qualified professionals around the world?” said Ghosh.
To develop solutions, some of the companies needed the availability of real data sets. Umakant Soni, co-founder, and CEO of ARTPARK (AI & Robotics Technology Park), a start-up incubator supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, requested improving artificial intelligence computer nodes and giving market assistance for the innovation carried out by the start-up.
Chandrasekhar requested volunteers for the task force from start-ups and other participants, asking them to gather all the necessary components for artificial intelligence in the nation so that the government would be willing to adopt it.
According to Chandrasekhar, “IndiaAI will work for Indians’ advantage to bring improved governance, development, and build an innovation environment that will contribute to the digital economy.
