The Future Skills Summit took place in Guwahati, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National Institute of Electronics and IT (NIELIT). Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, gave the event’s opening speech. The goal of the Summit was to bring together young Indians, educators, legislators, industry professionals, thought leaders, and tech enthusiasts to talk about ways to ignite talent ready for the future in both India and the rest of the world.
The Summit’s main topic was the effects of the world’s fast digitalization, with a special emphasis on the new prospects that young Indians have in cutting-edge fields including robotics, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and semiconductors. These developments present the young of the nation with substantial opportunities.
Acknowledging the role that talents play in generating prosperity, the summit was in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s goal of making India a global center for talent. Making a strategy that takes use of new technology and forms alliances with businesses and universities around the country is the main goal. It is anticipated that NIELIT will engage in over 20 strategic partnerships with leading organizations such as Intel, HCL, Microsoft, Kindryl, IIM Raipur, IIITM Gwalior, Wipro, and others.
Four panel talks on the topics of Semicon India, India AI, Cyber Security & Emerging Technologies, and Digital India’s Talent for the Global Workforce held at the summit.
