The government has begun taking action to get ready for the future as the world moves closer to artificial intelligence (AI) and the next phase of evolution. Various ministries are testing the waters with AI use cases in their departments, according to industry and government sources.
According to a senior government official, “a case study is being carried out across ministries by a dedicated wing consisting of experts to figure out AI use cases under the AI mission.” The goal is to streamline the procedures so that they are easier to use, quicker, and less taxing on the government.
For example, the Union Ministry of Coal recently created a logistics plan and policy after consulting with all supply chain participants in order to transport coal across the nation seamlessly. This will need developing a specialized logistics platform driven by AI that will combine all of the current state- and central-level coal transport tracking systems. AI and machine learning (ML) technologies will fuel the logistics platform. This will assist us in creating planning data sets. The coal supply may be better managed in the upcoming years based on the knowledge gained, an official stated. In a similar vein, the ministry of telecom is using AI to reduce spam.
