Elon Musk was one of the founders of OpenAI, a US startup that produced the well-known generative AI chatbot ChatGPT. Musk has returned from OpenAI.
At the World Government Summit in Dubai (UAE), when questioned about his predictions for the future of technology, Elon Musk replied, “ChatGPT is the most recent and most advanced kind of artificial intelligence that is powered by the GPT-3 large language model. Although it has immense potential and capability, there is also great risk involved. A vast amount of data has been used to train the chatbot to recognise human speech and produce responses.
Musk continued, “Thanks to ChatGPT, people have seen how far AI has progressed.” Over time, AI has developed. It just lacked an intuitive user interface that the majority of users could use.
He said that, unlike cars, aeroplanes, and medical devices, artificial intelligence does not have any laws or guidelines to guide its growth, according to the IANS report.
Personally, I think that AI security needs to be regulated. “I think it is a greater risk to civilization than cars, planes, or medicine,” Musk continued.
Musk reportedly left the board of directors of Open AI in 2018 and no longer owns any stock in the business, according to IANS.
As an open-source nonprofit, it was founded. Now, it is both closed-source and for-profit. I have no open ownership in OpenAI, I’m not on the board, and I have no authority over it in any manner, according to Musk.
Musk decided to start OpenAI when he was on the board because he believed Google was not paying enough attention to AI security.
