NEW DELHI: On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged startups to fully capitalise on the expanding potential in the Indian space industry.
Modi stated that Indian entrepreneurs and enterprises are working to introduce new breakthroughs and new technologies in this arena in his monthly radio programme “Mann Ki Baat.” In this area, IN-collaboration SPACe’s in particular will have a significant impact.
“Additionally, IN-SPACe is providing the capability for non-government organisations to launch their payloads and satellites. I would encourage an increasing number of entrepreneurs and creatives to fully capitalise on the enormous prospects being created in India’s space sector “said he.
The government opened up the space industry in June 2020 to allow the Indian private sector to participate in the full range of space activities.
The Indian National Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe), a single-window, independent, nodal body that operates as an autonomous agency in the Department of Space, was established by the government to enable private sector engagement (DOS).
It serves as a single point of contact for all private sector activity in the space industry.
“In the past, India’s space industry was only allowed to operate under government control. Since the space industry opened to India’s youth, radical changes have begun to occur there “Modi added more in his speech.
“I also recall the earlier times when India was denied access to cryogenic rocketry. However, Indian scientists not only created indigenous technology, but also made use of it to simultaneously launch dozens of satellites into space “added the prime minister.
In reference to the accomplishment of simultaneously launching 36 satellites into orbit on October 23, Modi stated that with this launch, India has become a significant player in the global commercial sector.
