Artificial intelligence and other modern technology advancements, according to President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday, offer countless revolutionary potential, but it’s critical to solve “ethical dilemmas” that arise from its use.
The five Ds—demand, demography, democracy, desire, and dream—that India possesses, according to her, will be extremely helpful to the nation as it develops.
Here, during the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) second convocation, she was giving a speech.
Demand, Demography, Democracy, Desire, and Dream are the five Ds of modern India. These 5Ds will be extremely helpful to us as we progress in our growth. By 2030, our economy—which was ranked eleventh ten years ago—will have risen to the fifth rank and be the third largest globally, according to her.
“India is a democratic country that is developing. By 2047, we want India to have reached a developed state. It is the duty of every IIT Lucknow student to not just join this goal but also do everything in their power to see it through to completion,” she continued.
According to the President, we are all living through the start of the fourth Industrial Revolution and that change is a natural law.
Artificial Intelligence is showing itself to be a valuable instrument for improving productivity and simplifying human lives. AI and machine learning have so many uses that they are affecting practically every part of our life. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are offering many chances to enhance our productivity and efficiency across various domains, including healthcare, education, agriculture, smart cities, infrastructure, smart mobility, and transportation, among others, the speaker stated.
According to her, blockchain, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the Internet of things are among the new technologies that India is leading the world in.
AI and other modern technical advancements, according to the President, provide limitless and hitherto unheard-of opportunities for development and transformation.
“However, we must first address the moral conundrums raised by the application of AI. “We need to come up with innovative solutions for every issue, whether it’s the automation-related employment crisis, the growing economic inequality gap, or the AI-induced bias against humans,” the speaker stated.
Make sure that “Artificial Intelligence” and “Emotional Intelligence” are given equal weight.
“We must never forget that artificial intelligence (AI) should be used as a tool to improve human existence, not as a means to a goal. She emphasized that any choice we make ought to help the person at the bottom of the hierarchy,” she continued.
The designation of IIIT Lucknow as an Institute of National Importance was announced, to the delight of the President.
The President stated that learning regional languages is a good concept and will help to remove barriers to knowledge enhancement caused by linguistic constraints.
According to her, students are given the abilities they need to navigate the new technology landscape through a curriculum that focuses on artificial intelligence and its applications.
