Indian carmaker Tata Motors handed over 101 electric vehicles to its customers in a single day in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Srilakshmi Auto Enterprises organised an event to deliver the 101 EVs that comprised 70 Nexon EVs and 31 units of the Tigor EV. Additionally, the automaker is planning to launch a long-range version of the Nexon EV in the coming months.
The Nexon EV has been one of the most sought-after electric vehicles in the Indian market. In fact, Tata Motors recently delivered 712 EVs in Maharashtra and Goa, comprising 564 units of the Nexon EV and 148 units of the Tigor EV.
Besides this, the carmaker is working with the Tata Group subsidiaries, such as Tata Motors Finance, Tata Power, Tata Chemicals, Tata Components, and Tata Croma to accelerate the EV adoption via its EV-specific ecosystem, named the ‘Tata uniEVerse’.
The Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2kWh battery pack providing a claimed range of 312km. This single-motor setup produces 127bhp and 245Nm. Meanwhile, the upcoming long-range EV is expected to get a 40kWh battery pack with sub-400km of range on a full charge.
