The Telangana government and UNESCO are going to be collaborating to implement the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI as a Letter of Intent was signed here on Sunday.
The collaboration focuses on promoting the moral development and use of AI awareness raising, capability building, and contributions to UNESCO’s World Observatory on AI Ethics.
The partnership signifies a shared commitment to associate AI-powered future that prioritizes social development.
”An important collaboration between the IT, Electronics, and Communications (ITE&C) Department of the govt. of Telangana and UNESCO, is ready to form the landscape of the moral development of and use of AI”, a release said.
The Letter of Intent marks the start of a strategic partnership geared toward promoting the implementation of UNESCO’s recommendation on the ethics of AI.
The signing ceremony was attended by Vakati Karuna, Secretary of Education of the Telangana government, and Mariagrazia Squicciarini, Director and Chief of govt. workplace, Social and Human Sciences at UNESCO; and Rama Devi Lanka, Director of Emerging Technologies, Telangana government.
According to the release, the collaboration gains importance with the ITE&C Department’s role in shaping the technological landscape of Telangana, guaranteeing that advancements are aligned with moral values.
With a shared commitment to fostering helpful development and application of AI technologies and sure-fire mitigation of the inherent risks, the Telangana government and UNESCO are embarking on a transformative collaboration that aims to harness the ability of AI technologies for social development, the release added.
