Ten Artificial Intelligence Labs would be established in institutions inside Thiruvananthapuram, according to Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the BJP-led NDA candidate. These labs are a part of the new India AI Mission and are run by a “Global AI giant” with technical assistance.
India is to invest an estimated Rs 10,361 crore to create a comprehensive AI ecosystem in the nation. A sum of Rs 2,000 crore has been set aside to support AI startups, according to Chandrasekhar. In response to questions about why he decided to donate ten labs to Thiruvananthapuram colleges, Chandrasekhar hinted at his intention to run for the seat by saying that he now clearly had a motive to donate to colleges in the capital of Kerala.
“I’m starting here for a purpose. The Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Electronics and Information Technology, and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said, “I have come here to represent Thiruvananthapuram.”
He claimed that he has been initiating these kinds of programs all throughout the nation for the past few years, and that he is currently doing them in Thiruvananthapuram. I have only now had a chance to speak about Thiruvananthapuram. How would I have answered your question regarding Thiruvananthapuram two years ago? I only got the chance now,” Chandrasekhar remarked.
According to him, there will be no cap on the number of AI laboratories and, within the next five years, any college wishing to establish one would be able to do so with government funding.
