Leading AI company Awiros, in association with Intel, concluded the biggest Computer Vision Hackathon in India, marking a historic milestone. Over the course of three months, an astounding 3500 teams consisting of over 8000 individuals from top educational institutions and international organizations participated in this ground-breaking hackathon. The main goal of the hackathon was to create enterprise-level computer vision apps on the Awiros Platform with Intel OpenVino tools. This was Awiros’ second such hackathon; the first was hosted at IIT Delhi in February of this year.
Awiros is recognized as the first operating system and marketplace for computer vision in history. Seven safe and smart cities in India, including Thane, Bangalore, Delhi, and more, as well as prestigious companies like Mercedes Benz and Pratt & Whitney, have adopted the Awiros Appstack, which currently hosts 70 apps. Awiros offers developers a unique marketplace that exposes their apps to major international organizations, in addition to streamlining the application development process. “Awiros handles all the plumbing to make lab-grade computer vision models operate at scale,” said Vikram Gupta, CEO of the company. Computer vision programs can now run on any hardware, regardless of the processor or video source, thanks to the Awiros Operating System. The basic algorithm is all that developers need to write and push; we take care of the other modules, which call for a variety of skill sets and are more than 90% difficult.
” Eleven exceptional finalists competed in the grand finale, which was held at Conrad Bengaluru. Every team was assigned a specific booth to showcase their solutions. With its ground-breaking application “Cart Lens,” which can create retail heat maps, identify high-traffic regions, and identify stocked-out items on shelves, Team AI Slayers from Coimbatore won the coveted first place. The makers of a pothole detection system from Mumbai, Team Random_State42, took home the second award. Their creative solution uses cameras installed on government cars to map out the distribution of pothole density, making urban planning safer and more effective. Third place went to Team Intelagent for their program “Securos,” which uses real-time CCTV video analysis to assess whether 2-wheeler users follow safety rules including donning helmets and abstaining from using cell phones while operating a vehicle. The winners and participants received a total reward money exceeding Rs. 5 lakhs. Numerous hackathon applications will undergo fine tuning and be integrated into the Awiros Appstack. Over the next two to three years, Awiros hopes to expand its application library to 1000, catering to a wide range of use cases.
With the support of top deep tech venture capitalists like Inflexor, Veda VC, and Exfinity Ventures, Awiros is becoming a dominant force in India’s video AI market by creating a robust environment that fosters innovation.
