On Thursday, Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan inaugurated the “Emerging and Innovative Technology” facility, reviving Punjabi University’s Mohali branch and introducing 33 new short-term courses.
Together with the Sabudh Foundation, the classes have begun. ‘Punjabi University Centre for Emerging and Innovative Technology, Mohali’ was the new name for the facility. There are now new data science and artificial intelligence (AI) courses available.
He promised to inform Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of the Punjabi University’s effort so that more effective work could be done in this direction.
According to Vice Chancellor Professor Arvind, the new courses are necessary for the university to be a genuine contender in the modern world. Along with the usual courses, “we have to start exclusive-type of programs,” he said.
The coordinator of the Mohali center, Dr. Rekha Bhatia, stated that each of the 33 courses has a varied length, ranging from one to 12 weeks. Programming in Python, data science, machine learning, deep learning, a diploma in data, and other topics are covered in the courses. She claimed that these new courses are open to enrollment from students, working professionals, and businesspeople.
