Although ChatGPT 3 was trained on billions of pieces of data, a graphic that went popular online implied that this would be a drop in the bucket compared to the data being sent to ChatGPT 4. An interviewer questioned CEO Sam Altman on the accuracy of this claim while speaking with StrictlyVC. Altman admitted that the portrayal was completely false.
To be honest, the ChatGPT 4 rumour mill is a dumb idea. Altman said he has no idea where it all comes from, and he fails to understand why more intriguing theories haven’t been proposed. He does not have an artificial general intelligence (AGI), as characterised by Altman, that might compete with humans in learning and existence.
Concerns have been raised regarding the morality of the data sets used to train ChatGPT because Microsoft wants to make it available to Azure OpenAI commercial users. There are also concerns that the AI-powered programme may be used to create everything from malware to academic essays.
Altman stressed that OpenAI was working more slowly to create a usable product, but he did not provide a precise timeframe for ChatGPT 4’s release.
“It will come out at some time when we are, like, certain that we can do it securely and properly. I think that, generally speaking, the pace of technological advancement will be far slower than most people would prefer,” he remarked.
