The third edition of Vedanta Spark, a corporate innovation, accelerator, and ventures program designed to offer over 100 project opportunities worth up to $5 million to entrepreneurs in sustainable and transformative technologies, has been launched, according to Vedanta.
Spark 3.0 is expected to make a substantial contribution to Vedanta’s transformation and the expansion of involved startups given the spectacular success of the previous two editions, which engaged over 80 startups for more than 120 opportunities totaling over $3.5 million.
Vedanta Spark 3.0 is a testament to our dedication to promoting innovation and cooperation, according to Ms. Priya Agarwal Hebbar, Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc Limited and Non-Executive Director of Vedanta Limited. By enabling the enterprises to work with some of the nation’s best minds and usher in the next generation of industry leaders, this project also aims to instill a start-up culture. Through creative solutions, we plan to put greater emphasis on ESG change this year. We also want to work with and support more women-led enterprises.
To encourage start-ups, Vedanta Spark looks for answers to actual business problems. Selected start-ups have the chance to work on projects with Vedanta Group firms and have access to top-notch infrastructure, resources, and insider knowledge from Vedanta’s seasoned internal specialists. This gives startups the ability to improve their goods, expand their businesses, and experience sustainable growth.
Mr. Arun Misra, CEO of the Zinc Sector, Executive Director of Vedanta Limited, and Spark Anchor, stated that “The Spark initiative aligns with the Group’s vision of supporting start-ups that leverage ground-breaking technologies to solve real business problems and shape the future of the industry.”
To speed up engagements with emerging technologies, Vedanta has worked with MeitY and Nasscom’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) for IoT & AI, CII’s CoE for Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and start-ups, and top industry players like Forge Innovation & Ventures. The program has also worked in tandem with international partner Austmine to advance technology in the field of natural resources.
“Spark 3.0 intends to bring forth more than 100 initiatives with opportunities up to $ 5 mn this year by partnering with innovative startups and utilizing their cutting-edge technologies,” stated Mr. Amitesh Sinha, Head of Vedanta Spark. This partnership acts as a potent accelerator for Vedanta’s goal of using open innovation and technologies to make a significant difference.
Enhancing corporate efficiency, implementing digital changes, and reaching Net Zero environmental targets are the three main areas of focus of the effort. The startups will collaborate with all of the Vedanta group firms and give them a platform to present their creative concepts.
With the introduction of Vedanta Spark 3.0, Vedanta Group reaffirms its dedication to promoting innovation and motivating entrepreneurs to bring about positive change, disrupt markets, and make a significant contribution to the world.
